Lindsey for Dover City Council
QUALIFICATIONS
Lindsey brings with her six years experience on Dover City Council along with her background in environmental policy. As a mom of two, she and her husband also understand the issues facing working families and children in the Dover community.
Knowledge of key issues - Lindsey has spent over 20 years studying and working on coastal management issues, and has seen the importance of action and involvement at the local level in building robust and resilient communities in the face of a range of changes. Dover is looked to as a leader in this area and Lindsey will continue to bring her expertise to support efforts to advance City efforts to respond to current challenges and prepare for the future.
Commitment to Community - Lindsey thrives on the opportunity to engage with those around her and help bring people together. While on City Council, Lindsey has served on the Strafford Regional Planning Commission, the Mayor’s Tri-City Task Force on Homelessness, the Ordinance Committee, the Conservation Commission, and as the Chair of the Appointments Committee (among others). Lindsey is also a small business owner here in Dover and has seen first hand the value of community in supporting the local economy.
Analytical Skills - A former program and policy analyst for the National Ocean Service, Lindsey has over ten years experience analyzing budget and legislative proposals for an over $500 million federal agency. Her ability to understand complex proposals with limited time and information led her to be named National Ocean Service employee of the year twice (2010 and 2014). This experience helped her quickly get up to speed on the Dover municipal budget process, a key duty of the City Council. Lindsey has continued to put these skills to work to ask questions of the City Manager and work with other Councilors to continue to ensure transparency and responsiveness through the budget process.
